What is Anodontia?
Anodontia is an inherited genetic defect, more common in females, where some teeth never grow into place. (The specific gene mutation is unknown). This clearly creates a severe problem with functionality and aesthetics.
Anodontia is often associated with something referred to as ectodermal dysplasia, which is a group of hereditary conditions that affect skin, sweat glands, hair, and nails.
What Can People with Anodontia Do About This?
Dentists may recommend bridges, dentures, or dental implants.
How is it Diagnosed?
